This 12-hour course provides the instruction and hands-on experience to turn the novice beekeeper into a backyard beekeeper. Topics include hive management; bee biology; recognizing and treating common diseases and predators; and legal requirements.
After completing the course successfully, participants are eligible to receive a starter bee colony at no additional cost. Bees are subject to availability. Frames and other hive equipment not included.
The first three classes will meet virtually on three consecutive Tuesday evenings.
(March 24, March 31, and April 7)
Live, in-person sessions with hands-on hive manipulation will be determined as executive orders controlling social movement are revisited in the future.
