Monthly Meeting

Long Beach Beekeepers meet on the first Sunday of the month and welcome everyone from the experienced to the novice beekeeper to those just curious about beekeeping. 

This month we welcome Chris Allen, a PhD student working with Dr. Boris Baer at the University of California, Riverside's Center for Integrative Bee Research (CIBER), as our featured speaker. Chis is working to understand how we can boost the health and vitality of commercially available breeding stock with the help of “wild” bees found across Southern California.  Learn how you help build a better bee by contributing to an upcoming research project as he works to unravel the hidden secrets of bees in your own backyard.

Join us after the meeting for a field trip to the Willow Springs Bee Sanctuary to meet some wild bees.

Special thanks to EDCO Recycling & Transfer for hosting our meetings. The in-person meeting is open to the general public. Members who opt to attend online will be emailed the meeting link and passcode.
