Long Beach Beekeepers
Long Beach Beekeepers is pleased to announce a special speaker for our May meeting, Dr. Lars Chittka. A professor of sensory and behavioural ecology at Queen Mary University of London, Dr. Chittka is a leader in the field of insect intelligence and has carried out extensive work on the behaviour, cognition and ecology of honeybees and their interactions with flowers. In his book, The Mind of a Bee, Dr. Chittka reveals that although small in size, bee brains are unmatched in the animal kingdom for the content of sophisticated material. We hope you will join us for what is sure to be a fascinating conversation.
Long Beach Beekeepers meet on the first Sunday of the month and welcome everyone from the experienced to the novice beekeeper to those just curious about beekeeping. The in-person meeting is open to the general public. Members who opt to attend online will be emailed the meeting link and passcode.
In addition to a guest speaker, meetings feature a Honey of the Month tasting and an opportunity drawing. What a sweet deal!
Special thanks to EDCO Recycling & Transfer for hosting our meetings.
