Remembering Henry Kurland

Long Beach Beekeepers pays tribute to Henry Kurland - one of our own founding fathers - on Sunday at the Willow Springs Bee Sanctuary. In addition to being a\one of the club's founders and our first president, Henry was the driving force behind the Sanctuary and the enclosed apiary structure that won the hearts and the approval of the City of Long Beach. Henry helped foster our partnership with the City and was instrumental in leading the charge to make backyard beekeeping legal in Long Beach.

We meet on Sunday prior to the club meeting to honor his memory by dedicating a plague in tribute to his many contributions to the club. All are welcome to attend.

Parking at the Sanctuary is limited. Please park on the street or in the Willow Springs Park lot unless walking that distance poses a hardship.
